                                     .  DETECTION .
.   Almost everyone knows about Smoke Detectors.  They have saved many lives in the
past two or three decades, and most homes have them.   Here are a few others you
should consider.  

.   CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTION is probably the most important.  Carbon Monoxide is
a deadly byproduct of imperfect combustion.  It is odorless, tasteless, and invisible.  Many
are killed by it each year.  If you have any gas burning appliances in your home or
business you should have one.  You might also consider switching to a Heat Pump or a
Geothermal  remove the risk.

.   RADON is a vapor that is found in some areas and not in others.  Radon is a
carcinogen and often pools in areas of basements that have poor air flow.  A Radon
Sampler can be hung in a suspect area for 2 to 7 days and sent of to a lab for analysis.       
 
.    REFRIGERANT detectors are often used by large users, such as grocery stores to alert
them of a leak before loosing thousands of dollars worth of freon.  

.    Propane gas detectors are required in many areas that are connected to a main gas
shut off.  Because Propane is heavier than air, we do not recommend it's use in
basements of homes or buildings.
